ASUS' 14-inch Vivobook has a sleek NanoEdge display, a backlit keyboard, an AMD Ryzen 3 processor with 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. It's not a super impressive spec sheet, but it's very solid within the context of its current sale price of $299 and worthwhile for everyday multitasking. (Most cheap, entry-level PCs under $300 have thick bezels, non-backlit keyboards, pokey Intel Core N Series CPUs, 4GB of RAM, and sluggish eMMC flash storage that caps out at 128GB.)

A great pick for school or travel, this 15-inch IdeaPad is a thin and portable PC packing an 11th-generation Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, a hefty 512GB of SSD storage, a full HD touchscreen display, and a battery life of up to 12 hours per charge. It typically retails for $629.99, but we saw it on sale for $399.99 at Best Buy — that's a 36% savings and $30 cheaper than its current price on the Lenovo website during its Labor Day Sneak Peek sale.

Why we like it

This is the excellent 13-inch Apple MacBook Air from late 2020, which nabbed a Mashable's Choice Award upon release for its zippy M1 chip, quiet fanless design, and 18-hour battery life. We're still recommending it three years later as a budget MacBook option, and the 256GB base configuration's current price of $749.99 (available at Amazon and Best Buy) is the cheapest it's ever been. You won't find a better MacBook deal anywhere unless you opt for a refurbished or renewed machine.

Why we like it

The M2-powered Apple MacBook Air from late 2022 is our favorite MacBook on the market and a Mashable's Choice Award-winner for its long battery life, stellar keyboard, and speedy performance. This newer 15-inch version upgrades it with a slightly larger (but just as pretty) Liquid Retina display and two extra speakers (six instead of four) — and it still only weighs about three pounds. Amazon and Best Buy just put it back on sale at its record-low of $1,099, which we've only seen once before in early August.
