Why we like it

The V15 Detect is the beastlier version of our favorite Dyson value vacuum, the V12 Detect Slim. "Detect" signifies the cleaning head with Dyson's iconic green laser that points out dust you wouldn't have seen otherwise. Compared to the V12, the V15 Detect has a larger dustbin and 240 Air Watts of suction power versus the V12's 150. With the V12 Detect Slim's current underwhelming sale price of $529, there's little reason to not spend the extra $70 for much more oomph.

Though it's not the lowest price we've seen on a V15 model (which was $499.99 over the holidays), this sub-$600 sale price still looks like a steal alongside the $949.99 price tag on the V15s Detect Submarine: Dyson's first all-in-one cordless vacuum and mop that's essentially the V15 Detect with the option to swap in a wet roller head. If you're solid with your Swiffer right now, opting for the non-mop V15 Detect saves you almost $400.
